Face Your Trauma

Trauma can sometimes be unconsciously hidden. Hidden in our mannerisms, our interactions, our relationship patterns, and more. I think this happens when we don't unwrap our trauma and properly face it. It's easier to just ignore it, get busy, and develop coping mechanisms instead.
For me, I was so engulfed in care for my loved one that I didn't start noticing the effects of trauma on myself until later on. It was like my body finally got off of adrenaline, and trauma was waiting at the door like, "Sis, You Ready Now?"
Take time to recognize what area in your life is stemming from unresolved trauma, then find someone to help you process it from top to bottom. Finding a therapist is self-care, and you deserve to take back these moments.
Affirmation: I don't need a round of applause for pushing through the mountain. I need to address the pain it caused me to do it.
